Marvin E. Thompson "Ed"
Vice President
Ed Thompson is a Mariner Instructor for LB&B Associates working as a contractor in Japan, both Yokosuka and Sasebo. Ed retired from the US Navy in 2021 after serving in 31 years as a Surface Warfare Officer. He commanded USS SAFEGUARD, USS HARPERS FERRY, USS GERMANTOWN, Amphibious Squadron 11. Ed served as Deputy Commander of Amphibious Force Seventh Fleet his last 5 years in the Navy. He has worked extensively alongside the Japan Self Defense Force and was awarded the Order of the Rising Sun by the Government of Japan in recognition of his support. Ed earned a Master of Strategic Studies at the Naval War College and received a B.A. degree in Government and Politics from the University of Maryland. He remains a stalwart supporter of the alliance of Japan and the United States and enjoys volunteering and attending YCAPS event.
