China-Japan-ROK Partnership Amid the Uncertainty of the Second Trump Era
YCAPS Community Conversation Series - 6th February 18:15 (Fussa In-Person event)
YCAPS is excited to announce our next event in Fussa. This event will feature Dr. Shinae Lee who will lead us in a discussion on the China-Japan-ROK Partnerships.
In May 2024, China, Japan, and South Korea held their first Trilateral Summit in nearly five years. While the meeting faced challenges in bridging gaps, the resumption of trilateral talks sent a signal of the three countries' political commitment to cooperation. However, the return of a Trump presidency, alongside the uncertain future of South Korea’s Yoon administration, raises questions about the future of the trilateral partnership. What trajectory is the China-Japan-South Korea partnership likely to take amid the unpredictable second Trump administration, and what are the implications for regional security?
