    Tuesday, April 29th 9:00 am - 12:00pm

Join YCAPS on a journey through the history and culture of Kyushu, guided by local volunteers! Explore the renowned Arita Porcelain Festival, Japan's largest pottery market! Originating from the historic "Kurazarae Grand Sale" held as part of the "Pottery Evaluation Exhibition" in 1915, this event takes place annually from April 29th to May 5th for 7 days. Along the approximately 4-kilometer stretch between JR Arita Station and Kami-Arita Station, you'll find around 450 pottery shops offering a diverse range of ceramics. With approximately 1.2 million visitors each year, you'll truly experience the charm of the pottery market. Moreover, you'll have the opportunity to admire pottery crafted by Living National Treasures and those designated as purveyors to the Imperial Household Agency. You can also enjoy a delightful food and fresh local delicacies along the way. Dress comfortably in sneakers and gloves, and bring along a backpack for easy movement. Free rest areas and shuttle buses are also available. Join us for an unforgettable experience!
