It has been about one month since Mongolia Connect reached out to the local community, asking for donations for Mongolians who suffered devastating losses to the July flash floods. The response has been overwhelming. Community members have gathered and donated over 30 boxes of supplies for the impacted families. YCAPS Mongolia Connect has received donations from families as far as Italy and Hawaii while still coordinating with bases across Japan. Once the donations were received, cadets from the Japan National Defense Academy assisted the team with packaging the boxes. The first shipment of boxes are set to leave Japan the first week of September and go through Mongolian customs by mid-September. From there, these donations will be distributed in three provinces that are still rebuilding from the devastation. Thank you to everyone who has contributed, near and far.
