YCAPS is excited to announce our newest initiative, the Allied Security Practitioners Exchange Network (ASPEN). The objective of ASPEN is to build a cohort of Alliance security professionals who share trusted social bonds forged by common professional development experiences. The ASPEN initiative aims to provide the foundation and forum necessary to foster a culture of growth and collaboration through a series of workshops and social events in Japan. Shared experiences, life-long learning, and fellowship are crucial to the strengthening the foundations of US-Japan relations.
We invite interested individuals to join ASPEN. Applications are open now!
Membership is open to Japanese and American security professionals with at least 3 years of experience. This includes government officials, military/SDF officers, coast guard officers, police, employees of defense industries, defense contractors, and security-focused academics. Junior- to mid-grade professionals are especially welcome. Participation will be in personal capacity. Military/SDF personnel will not use ranks or wear uniforms at ASPEN events. Membership is free, but individuals will need to register via an online form.
Our kickoff event will be the ASPEN Workshop to be held in Yokosuka on 26 Oct 2024. This workshop will include activities to teach participants more about Alliance fundamentals and the basic information/decision chain requirements for conducting strike or counter-strike operations. We are able to fund domestic travel for up to 10 Japanese and 10 American ASPEN members to attend the workshop. This includes meals on 26 Oct, 2 nights hotel, and domestic flight or train to Yokosuka. The workshop is meant to both help people learn specific skills and create a social bonding "retreat." After the kick-off, we look forward to organizing a variety of professional development opportunities across Japan. If you think this sounds interesting, valuable or fun, please apply for membership even if you cannot join the kick-off workshop in October!

キックオフイベントは、2024年10月26日に横須賀で開催されるASPENワークショップです。この第一回のワークショップでは、参加者に同盟の基礎を講義し、次に攻撃・反撃作戦を実施するために必要な基本的な情報・判断の流れについて学びます。YCAPSは、このワークショップに参加する日米のASPENメンバー10名までの国内旅費を提供することができます。これには、当日の食事、2泊のホテル代、横須賀までの国内線航空運賃または電車代が含まれます。このワークショップは、参加者が学ぶだけでなく、社会的な絆を深める"隠れ家 "となることを目的としています。このワークショップにご興味のある方は、オンラインフォームにご記入ください。
キックオフの後、私たちは日本全国で様々なプロフェッショナル育成の機会を企画していきたいと考えています。10月のキックオフ・ワークショップに参加できなくても、「面白そうだ」「価値がありそうだ」「楽しそうだ」と思われた方は、ぜひご入会ください！
