On 6-7 June YCAPS Mongolia Connect Director Nick Millward represented the organization at the Ulaanbaatar Dialogue (UBD) for Northeast Asian Security. This was his third consecutive year doing so. The UBD provides a unique opportunity to hear regional and extra-regional experts discuss the leading issues pertain to Northeast. The UBD's wide ranging discussions covered geopolitical tensions on the Korean Peninsula, nergy security, youth engagement, crisis and other diverse topics. The relationships built in and around the UBD have lasting impacts as practitioners and officials cooperate to address tensions and concerns in Northeast Asia. As always, the Mongolian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Institute for Strategic Studies did an amazing job hosting the growing forum. This year’s UBD saw a substantial increase in the number of attendees, and the number of countries represented which signals the growing importance of UB’s political positioning in the region.
