A Yokosuka based company, Okada Electric Co. Ltd is making PPE face shields and donating them to local healthcare workers.
As the new and infectious coronavirus disease spreads throughout the world, the shortage of personal protective equipment used by medical staff has become a problem. Many medical institutions in the city are in short supply. In order to prevent the spread of the coronavirus in Yokosuka, the company has produced face shields that protect from droplets of moisture spreading from infected community members to medical workers.
These face shields will immediately be distributed to hospitals and other medical institutions. In the future, the company plans to make these shields available commercially.
