YCAPS Odawara Soga Plum Festival Walk
w/ Richard Walton
Richard Walton will lead a group of YCAPS members on a walk in the Soga Plum Orchard area of Odawara on Feb 9, 2025 (Sunday). The route will include some of the sites outlined on the Soga Plum Festival homepage including local temples and the plum orchards.
The itinerary for the day is:
- 09:20 – Meet at JR ShimoSoga Station (Gotemba Line)
- 09:20-14:00 – Walk through the Soga Plum Orchard, a visit to the Soga Plum Festival, and visits to several local temples
- 14:00 – event ends at JR Kozu Station (JR Tokaido Line) w optional refreshments near the station
Participants should be prepared for approximately 4 hours of walking. Midway through the walk, we will visit the festival grounds where there will be an opportunity to buy festival food and visit the restroom. The walk is mostly along level ground, but it might be too strenuous for small children or those with physical limitations. The group size will be limited so please RSVP early.
