Historical Context tour of NTC San Diego and the 52 Boats Memorial

Anthony Boccia will lead a group of individuals through Liberty Station, exploring the history of Naval Training Center San Diego, the 52 Boats Memorial, and USS Recruit. During the tour, participants will receive a short history of ten of the submarines listed in the memorial and be given time to explore the remainder themselves.

The itinerary for the day is:

1000: Meet up at USS Recruit

1000-1030: USS Recruit

1045-1130: 52 Boats Memorial

1200-1230: History of NTC San Diego

1245-1400: Lunch at Stone Brewery

Participants should be prepared for approximately 4 hours of walking through the parks and roads surrounding Liberty Station. Sunscreen, headwear, and a light jacket are recommended. There will be an optional lunch and drinks at Stone Brewery in Liberty Station. The group size will be limited so please RSVP early.
